MiloJulo Data Notice
Last updated 27 October 2026. Effective from the date you accept it in the app.
This is MiloJulo's privacy policy: what we collect, why, who else handles it, how long we keep it, and how to get it corrected or deleted. We wrote it in plain language because a notice nobody reads protects nobody.
MiloJulo (Md Sadiq Hasan Ansari, an individual, Sterling PG and Accommodation, Mukai Nagar, Phase 1, Pune, Maharashtra 411057, India) decides how your data is used. In the words of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary and you are the Data Principal.
What we collect and why

We do not ask for your religion, caste, community, employer or education, and there is no field to put them in. We do not show ads and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
Where you are
When you allow location, we take one point from your phone, move it 200 to 500 metres in a fixed random direction, and store only that moved point. We keep no history: each new reading replaces the last. No Member, and no part of the app, can read that point. It is used only inside the database to work out distances, and what anyone sees is a rounded band, such as "under 2 km" or "about 5 km".
If your location has not been updated in the last 30 days, or you do not allow it, you do not appear in Discover and Discover shows you nobody; your chats keep working. The point is deleted when you delete your account.
Why we are allowed to
We process your data on the consent you give when you join, by accepting this notice, the Terms and the Community Guidelines, for the purposes in the table above. Location is used only if you allow it on your phone. Separately, we may keep or share data where the law requires it, for example to answer a lawful request from an authority. If you are in the European Union or the UK, our legal bases are your consent, the performance of our contract with you (running the service you asked for), and our legitimate interest in keeping MiloJulo safe (moderation and report evidence).
Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw consent in Settings, as easily as you gave it, one document at a time. Withdrawing hides your profile until you accept again, because we cannot run the service without it. Withdrawal does not undo processing that already happened. To stop entirely, delete your account.
Who else handles your data
These companies process data for us, only to run MiloJulo, under their own data protection terms:

Some of these providers process data outside India. Indian law allows this except to countries the Government has restricted, and none of these are. If you live outside India, your data is stored in India and handled as this notice says.
We may also disclose data when Indian law, a court or a lawful government request requires it, or to protect someone from serious harm.
How long we keep things

Deleting your account
Delete it in the app (Me → Settings → Delete account) or on the web at milojulo.co.in/delete-account, where you sign in with the same email code and can tell us why you are leaving (optional; we keep the answer without your name or email). If neither works, write to [email protected] from the email address you sign in with and we will delete it for you.
You disappear from Discover, chats, Activities and Circles immediately. Within about an hour, a job deletes your photos and chat media from storage and then the account itself; your profile, prompts, interests, location, connections, messages, Join Requests, Circle memberships and feedback go with it. What survives on purpose is listed above: report records and report evidence.
Your rights
You can:
- Get a summary of your data: Settings → Request a copy of my data. We send it to your email.
- Correct or update it: most of it you can edit yourself in the app; for the rest, write to us.
- Have it erased: delete your account, or ask us.
- Withdraw consent: in Settings (above).
- Nominate someone to use these rights for you if you die or cannot act: write to us with their name and email.
- Complain to us: write to our Grievance Officer (below).
- Complain to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied with our answer.
If you are in the European Union or the UK you also have the rights to object, to restrict processing and to data portability, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
We answer requests and grievances within 30 days, and never later than 90 days.

Children
MiloJulo is for people 18 and over only. We do not knowingly process data about anyone younger. If you believe a Member is under 18, report them in the app or tell us, and we will close the account.
Security
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our providers. Access rules in the database stop anyone reading data that is not theirs; exact location can be read by no one; photos and media are only reachable through short-lived links issued after checking you are allowed to see them; and every moderation action is logged. No system is perfectly secure.
If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India without delay, and follow up with what happened, how far it reached and what we changed.
Changes
When this notice changes in a way that affects you, we publish a new version, show it to you in the app and ask you to accept it before you carry on. Smaller corrections are made on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
